Welcome to the 2011 Alltech National Horse Show, 128th Edition!The National Horse Show Association of America, Limited (NHSAA) is pleased to announce that this year’s event will feature a full array of hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions. The Alltech National Horse Show, 128th Edition will be held November 2- 6, 2011, at the new Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. This year’s show will offer over $600,000 in total prize money, including a huge Open Jumper division. The Open Jumpers will feature $370,000 in total prize money, including the $250,000 Alltech National Horse Show Grand Prix. In addition, this year’s show has been designated CSI-W 4*, with the Alltech National Horse Show Grand Prix being an all important FEI East Coast League World Cup qualifying event.
“The National Horse Show is thrilled to be offering hunters, jumpers, and the Maclay Finals during our first year in Kentucky,” said President Mason Phelps, Jr. “We are excited to showcase the best our sport has to offer in all three divisions during this year-end Finals event.” $100,000 in prize money is up for grabs for the Junior and Amateur Owner Jumpers Division. $175,000 in prize money will be offered in the AA rated Hunter Division. Each of the hunter divisions hosted during the Alltech National Horse Show will offer an incredible $10,000 – $20,000 per division. This year’s divisions will include Junior Hunters, Amateur-Owner Hunters, and the High Performance Hunters, Green and Regular Working Hunters and the Confirmation Divisions. Each year, the top hunters from around the country are invited to compete during the National Horse Show. Ralph Caristo and Scott Williamson will judge this year’s event.

One of the highlight events during the Alltech National Horse Show, 128th Edition will be the ASPCA Alfred B. Maclay Finals. Junior riders compete throughout the year to qualify for the finals, which will include a warm-up, where entries will be determined by regional qualifying events. Kip Rosenthal and Cynthia Hankins will judge this year’s top junior riders as they compete for the coveted title as the winner of the Maclay.
The ASPCA Alfred B. Maclay Finals have been held since 1933, and its winners are some of the biggest names in equestrian sport. Previous winners include Olympians: William Steinkraus (1941), Frank Chapot (1948), George Morris (1952), J. Michael Plumb (1957), Conrad Homfeld (1967), Leslie Burr Howard (1972), and Peter Wylde (1982).
Founded in 1883 at the original Madison Square Garden, the National Horse Show is America’s oldest indoor horse show, firmly established as a major fixture on the national and international sports and social event calendars. The National Horse Show Association’s primary activity is the annual production of the National Horse Show and all ancillary events. Over the years, the National Horse Show has provided financial aide to many worthwhile charities.
New to the National Horse Show in 2011 will be a full complement of jumper divisions. Three classes of Junior/Amateur Jumpers will total $50,000 in prize money, with a Show Jumping Hall of Fame Classic wrapping-up the weekend’s events. There will also be two Open Jumper classes and Grand Prix event featuring the nation’s top jumper horse and rider combinations.
